Numerous rustic huts provide a great atmosphere with lively music and invite you to enjoy some après-ski after a challenging day of skiing and snowboarding.

Cross-country skiing

Whether skating or classic cross-country skiing – different trails provide plenty of variety.

The network of cross-country trails from Zell am See-Kaprun to Niedernsill, Piesendorf, Bruck, Fusch, Maishofen and Saalfeldenauf covers around 107 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails.

Snowshoe hiking

The snow-covered landscape in the heart of the Salzburg mountains is perfect for long winter hikes and challenging snowshoe tours.

Winter tobogganing

Tobogganing fun for young and old – whether on the toboggan run from Köhlergraben, the Maisi Flitzer year-round toboggan run, the Kohlschnait toboggan run or the longest toboggan run in the world (in Bramberg am Wildkogel).

The natural toboggan run at Köhlergraben is particularly suitable for families with children. Rental stations are also available in the region.

Fun slopes

There are several fun slopes in Zell am See-Kaprun, which provide additional fun on the slopes with snails, waves and tunnels.

  • Funslope XXL on the Schmittenhöhe: The start is at the Hochmaisbahn mountain station – then 1.3 km of fun and challenging surprises await your children, such as giant snails, jumps and more.
  • Funslope Eagle Line on the Kitzsteinhorn
  • Maisi Line

Snow & fun parks

With this fantastic range of snow parks in the region (on the Kitzsteinhorn, Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe), you certainly won’t get bored.

The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is renowned for action and fun and promises an extra-long season with the best slope conditions. Freestyle fans can enjoy four snow parks on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier.

The Easy Park on the Kitzsteinhorn and the Maisi Park on the Maiskogel are ideal for beginners.

On the Schmittenhöhe, you will find a snow park area where you can learn your first freestyle tricks.

Tauern SPA Kaprun

After an eventful winter day on or off the slopes, you can truly relax at the Tauern SPA Kaprun.

While your children are having fun in Kidstein, you can relax and reflect on your day in the water or sauna world. Twelve pools and ten saunas are available to you across 20,000 square metres.

While the temperatures and weather conditions have to be right for a day of ice skating on Lake Zell, you can glide across the ice at any time in the Zell am See ice rink.
